🎵 Before punk, there was Top 40 Frank. 😊

🎵 Favorite lyric: criminally only on the "Long version" or remix of "Everything She Wants" and not the album version: "How could you settle for a boy like me? / When all I could see was the end of the week" 🥰

🎵 The "Freedom" video set in China, along with the _Big Bird in China_ (1983) TV movie of all things, left quite an imprint. Seeing George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley prance around the Great Wall made me want to go too. Such is the life of being an ABC (American-born Chinese) trying to assimilate.while also having your culture fed back to you. 🤷‍♂️ I'm still better off for having Wham! and Sesame Street in my life.  A life's dream was achieved when I finally went to visit the mainland in 2001 with my mom. 👲

🎵 I'm not sure what to make of the "I don't want your freedom / Girl, all I want right now is you" lyric in "Freedom" in a 2025 context. 😬 But I give George considerable slack for playing the heteronormative role as closeted gay man, and it's just delivered so well. 😘

🎵 Hot take: "Freedom" is way better than George's solo "Freedom 90". 😁

🎵 I loved the melodrama of "Careless Whisper" and the glee of "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go". 🤩

🎵 The celebrity deaths of Michael Jackson (-2009), Whitney Houston (-2012), and George Michael (-2016), all around age 50, left me sad.  It's as if I finally realized we Gen Xers aren't going to live forever. 😭

🎵 So CHOOSE LIFE! 😇
