A traded the heat of the past week (I did not want to ride in the heat on Saturday) for the gusty wind(but no sunshine) not sure what was worse. It was good to be Back in the Dales. somewhere I haven't been since the months after the COVID restrictions were lifted.  Normally I only make it to Embsey when taking Oli (my son) rowing in Leeds as I have a 4 hour window and at the weekend cycling from Leeds is always the smarter move as otherwise I would sit in traffic getting fat and frustrated. But today I started from were I normally finish and went further. It's a shame I would have liked to have started from Restrap's HQ in Leeds but I couldn't face the 60km addd on from Leeds. Plus I'm not that fit!
