Always wear a helmet when you're riding a bicycle, even if you're re on the sidewalk. I had to go on the grass to avoid a parks department lawn mower on the sidewalk, and when I transitioned back to the sidewalk I misjudged the height difference between the grass and concrete. The bike flipped and I landed on my face. It looks bad, because it kind of is, but it would have been much worse if my helmet hadn't absorbed so much of the impact. Photo is me taking a selfie immediately after to see the damage. Stay safe out there. 🚲
