Not all went to plan, but that worked out for the best! Intended to go from Parma to Bologna, however a mechanical issue with the rear derailleur held me back in Modena. Not all was lost, as I took this as an opportunity to visit the Ferrari Museum based there. Sometimes set-backs work out! 

Since it was getting a bit late in Modena, and my Garmin at only 12%, full transparency but I took the train from there to Sasso Marconi, where I’m staying in a nice serene B&B and enjoying some nice food before the 115km ride tomorrow over the Apennine mounts that traverse across the middle of Italy.

It’ll be gruelling, but I’ve planned a route with a nice lake stop, and a back-up campsite just in case. But hopefully I shall arrive in Tuscany tomorrow eve!
