Night Hike

Started at 11:30 pm from Tete Rousse hut. Climbed up to Gouter hut and up to Gouter Dome. Hands and feet were numb from cold so I stopped at  the Vallot  hut for 45 mins to warm up. Ridges approaching the summit were pretty spectacular. No more than 18 inches wide and hundreds of foot drop off on either side. If you fell off one side, you would slide to Italy, and if you fell off the other side, you would slide into large open crevasses. It was much colder and windier on the summit than forecast so I only stayed for about 10 minutes. My Garmin was dying on the summit ridge on the way back down so I stopped the activity. I hiked and scrambled all the way back to TT Rouse Hut, collected some gear, repacked, and then hiked all the way back to Nid D’ Aigile train stop(Tramway Du Mont Blanc) and then down to the Bellevue stop trying to get an earlier train back to Saint Gervais. All in all a leg crushing day with a 35lb pack on my back.
