Painfully out of (my old) shape, but glad to have run a race again at long last :) Not sure what the limiting factor was today, HR didn't even hit 180 so maybe the leg turnover? I definitely felt the breathing though, so maybe just a bit of everything. That's what ages of low volume and barely workouts does to you D:

Didn't know what I was capable of doing today, just kinda started by feel and then after a few 100m the feel told me it felt a little too hard. Didn't blow up at least. Got tailed by the one woman from 1-1.5 km onwards, then another joined around 2k (I think, never looked back, but it sounded like it). The second one seemed like she was going easy still. I just kept the lead in that little group, but was hoping for someone else to take over for a bit. When the faster feeling woman did around 3.3 km, she quickly pulled away (and ended up winning the women's overall). I dropped the other one in the little grass climb to the parking lot (3.7 km). Weather was great, not humid, 23C or so?

Won the raffle afterwards, just like 3 years ago when I did this race. Weird how that happens.
