15:11 official time. 2nd overall to TK🥈. Was leading the whole time and TK was gaining on me fast and all of a sudden it was time to turn for the 20m finishing stretch and I had no idea and missed it because:
1. There was no marking to tell me to turn
2. I was only at 2.95 miles at the time and I was expecting a full 5k
3. The lead biker was 100m ahead of me the  entire time, that dude was an asshole too.
4. TK was on my ass and I didn’t want him to pass me

Not saying I would’ve had held off TK but wish I could’ve duked it out with him. Respect to him for the strong finish though, at least it wasn’t some random. Poorly organized race but the director told me I have a free entry next year. The same exact thing happened to me in middle school xc so that’s just life in the big city ig 🥲
This was still a great run though. Felt great running close to 5 flat, great running weather, and completely flat. I need to hit at least one of these on a track this year because I’ve been feeling good lately. Brews were had afterwards so can never be a bad day.
