Looping in the desert! Ran relaxed and confident. Everything felt so smooth and all was going according to plan. Think I just made the wrong plan. Underestimated the heat and undershot my sodium/hydration needs. That caught up to me after 4 hours. Sophie, JVD and Ryan helped troubleshoot after loop 2. I started out on a jog/walk for loop 3. Things came around at the top of the climb and I made it back JQ. My new baseline at this point was a death march and I could feel old injuries resurfacing. After a good sit, more fluids and some laughs, I felt fine calling it here.

This race is so fun. Super thankful I got to party for a few laps. I’ll definitely be back.
