It started when I went to overhaul my bike for an organized ride at the end of September. That's when I learned that you don't completely disassemble Shimano caliper brakes because you pretty much can't re-attach the springs. That meant I couldn't do the ride because nobody had brakes in stock locally and they wouldn't be delivered in time, either. So the brakes arrived but then I had to go to California for a bit, so more delay. Then I got to the front derailleur and found that it was pretty much rotted. The good news is that Shimano's 105 components are better and cheaper than the 10-year-old  Ultegra components they've replaced. Front shifting is so much smoother. So, this was, finally, a shakedown cruise for my bike. It went well except I found out I now need to replace the cassette. Other than that, good stuff.
