Thursday Core Exercise

Fasted. 40.8 pound ruck. Warm street clothes, road shoes.

Mom hadn't walked since Sunday due to her catching and fighting off some illness. Today, she was determined to walk "no matter what". Those were her words when I greeted her with her 6:00am coffee.

Mom managed to freewalk about the first mile, and then relied on her walker for the remainder. As we started our walk, I noted that there were no clouds on the horizon where the sun would shine and that suggested it would be warm and bright enough to see Albie when we were heading home on Trumbull.

When we got to where we normally see Albie, there was no sign of him. So, I had mom take one of her rest breaks there and then I photographed the sun behind the clouds and took another couple photos of where we normally see Albie, all so I could document why we didn't see him and then ... Albie came out.

I had to show Albie the baggie to get his attention, but once I did this, I gave my phone to mom so she could video my attempt to hand feed him. I brought eight mealworms today, because I won't be seeing Albie tomorrow. It took a little while, but he did take seven of the eight from my hand. My hands were getting a bit uncomfortable from the cold, so I didn't wait long enough for Albie to take the eighth.

It was an excellent day for mom, Albie and me. I hope your day goes as well as ours has started.

I'll add a video or two of him eating out of my hand "soon".
