🎄🚴‍♂️ Audax: Bethlehem & Back (Festive Edition) 🚴‍♂️🎄
Set off before dawn on a mildly unhinged plan to ride to Bethlehem and back… forgot to mention it was biblical weather.
✅ Rain: horizontal
✅ Wind: full wrath-of-God setting
✅ Roads: suspicious lakes
On arrival at Bethlehem Village Hall, soaked to the bone and questioning all life choices, I kid you not — the donkeys were arriving for the nativity.
I turn up looking like I’ve been dragged behind the Three Wise Men, and they’re calmly unloading livestock like this happens every day. Pretty sure one donkey looked at me like “mate… you knew Christmas was coming, right?”
176 miles. 11,000+ ft climbing.
Wet. Windy. Grim. Brilliant.
🎅 No gold, frankincense or myrrh delivered — just a ridiculous amount of Lycra and poor decision-making.
