Recovery miles

Somehow ended up in the elite pen which led to a fast start. HR was sitting at 150 so i tried to gradually slow things down until it settled around 145. Mile 10 had a mishap with hydration (may have accidently threw my handheld bottle lid in the bin). Still felt reasonably ok despite coughing an spluttering most of the way around. Didn't feel great at mile 17 and then seemed to get a second wind miles 18/19. Thought if i could just hold that pace for 10k i'd be happy and then on mile 20 my right calf went 🙈 race over but still 10k to run with 1 leg. Managed to grind it out despite the pain. What an event though and what an experience. Never take these things for granted. Marathons are always tough.
