Nevado del Tolima - Day 1

2:30 am start after a
very light sleep night, walking under the stars just seeing few steps ahead of you was an amazing experience but very hard physically with the altitude. These days the glacier starts only at 5000m and the last 200m of climbing with the sun rising were magical even if the summit was kind of tapped. But a got a short window to enjoy the views and capture the victorious moment. So proud of my gang, chances of making the summit after an over night flight from sea level NY on Friday were not very high but we pushed through and made it as a family. Amazing adventure. Another long day tomorrow to go down to Salento.
