Considering how deserted Chautauqua was, I thought it’d be an uneventful morning. 

After Hubris I started heading back down to the trailhead. Just after the saddle I heard some loud noises, seemingly coming from the First. Not sure what it was, perhaps shifting or sliding rocks?

There was a dude down climbing the summit of the Second and we briefly discussed what the sounds may have been. 

I decided I wanted to get higher to a better vantage point to see what happened. The dude was still down climbing so I decided to go up Freezeway instead. 

Well I couldn’t see anything on the First so I have no idea what the sounds were. Then I start heading down and the same dude is still at the same spot on the down climb. 

So I down climbed around him and coached him through it and spotted him in case he needed a hand (he didn’t).

Nice guy and he was super thankful. Glad I decided to go for that last unplanned summit…
