Snow was light and playful at first. It got pretty deep around the cascades. So many hidden traps and bog bridges. With no tracks to follow, each step was a surprise with how many layers of snowpack I’d punch through. Ascent up Nancy was as steep as you read about. Explored a slide off the herd path on the steep southwest face.. It’s possible this slide fell during the same storm on August 13, 1885 that triggered the North Tripyramid Slide.. fuckin NEAT!
