As a narcissist endurance athlete, I have a curious relationship with two of my roommates: Pacino and Peach. These rescue mutts are in constant need of attention. And we need to walk them 3x per day. How can I ever get my “training” in with that??? I had to eschew my skate skiing today to tramp through a foot of snow along the “Hoot Toot and Whistle” rail bed along the Deerfield River. This path could be the greatest rail-trail in New England should the Bear Swamp hydro folks simply allow the two ends to connect. Alas, today we simply tracked some deer, spotted a bald eagle, and then realized we had to mush our way back through the calf-deep snow.  Damn dogs are ruining my fitness, right?
