Was awoken by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake a few miles off the coast - quite exciting to feel that power, room was shaking like crazy! After our climb earlier in the day we opted for a train to skip a busy section of road, then back in the saddle from Heping to Haulien. Started by trying the old road along the coast - now reclaimed by nature, wild dogs and landslides. Eventually had to backtrack to the main road due to the road being completely washed out. A few long tunnels (exciting!), and miles and miles along the aqua-blue coastline. Drivers are amazingly courteous here, giving plenty of room and patience to share the road.
