Tuscany is such a pretty region.  Fantastic food options. Went past the Gladiator house.  Broke two spokes and started looking for trains back to the UK as in the middle of nowhere and assumed bike shops would be in Rome or Firenze - bit in a tiny village there was a repair shop open and a few hours later I was back on the road :)
Saw my first wild boar - massive and really fast because I spooked it.  Would not want to meet one on a fast descent! And my evening meal was boar (but don't think it was the same one..)
Step West Country climbs that go on a bit. With delays lots of descending in the dark - and soooo cold. Had two pairs of socks, hiking trousers on bibs, puffa jacket, etc.
