Double O heaven...
A second day of WalkO.  The LONG event.  And the map distance increased from the advertised distance so was happy I'd chosen to walk the green course.

It all went wrong immediately from the start as the first control was behind me.  I always feel wrong going back through the start to get to the first control so after I nudged forwards and the entire audience shouted "it's behind you" I was off and walking .

A shaky start and #3 was giving me a real head spin as I attempted a straight line approach in very challenging terrain, missed the control, found another pit and then relocated off a marsh and walked straight on to the control.  Nerves settled.  Time to count paths and try and stay in touch with the map.

A couple of little errors but nothing newsworthy.  A bit of a wobble for #18 with distraction and some confusing additional paths/tracks but a very cold and enjoyable route.

So good to be back out in the trees with map and compass.
