A day of two halves - sublime in the morning, sliding down the Rose River Valley (one of the prettiest you’ll ever see), then a brutalist slog over the southern side of Mt Buffalo, topping out at 1200 m, before an equally shuddering descent back to Porepunkah and Bright, thus closing out little holiday loop. Dead cert for Crescent Honeyeater and Olive Whistler up top if you ever wanted to tick them.
