Rounding Out A Duathlon Like 2025

From 664th (last) to 33rd. Not too bad to be just over 20 minutes considering the en masse bottlenecks at the bridges - especially the first bridge and under the railway line that required quite a bit of walking. That and having to slow to belatedly ditch my jacket and hat at a bench a kilometre in and of course just having to work my way through in general. Only really fully cleared out with around 1.5k to go - managed 3:49/km pace from there to the finish.

Not missed a start in over a year and then starting the new year with two on the bounce, this one by about a minute and a half 🤦‍♂️

I was actually up early this morning and ready with plenty of time for a longer run in...only for the dog to appear, need feeding and then take the longest time ever pooping in the garden. Eventually chased him down and got off too late for even the shortest possible route in.

Lots of icy sections, even more so on the lanes on the way home but thankfully still okay with a bit of care because it's such a flat course. Glad of the double gloves today 🥶
