West Maui Loop to start the year off right!

Maui day 1

Alright, let's start with the excuses besides, "I'm old," because I am.  I started to get a cold last night.  Didn't hardly sleep.  Felt like crap this morning and back was janky.  But this was the window Kylee and I had to climb Haleakala.  I was hoping to be able to hang with her until the guard house.  Shelley was running sag and doing bottle hand ups at 12.5 and 24 miles.  She was awesome.  Kylee and I traded pulls for the 1st 10 miles or so.  She kept asking how I was doing.  Not great Bob!  Not great!  She finally couldn't wait around anymore and dropped me soon after mile 11 or so.  I suffered to the gate and Shelley picked me up from there.  Back just wouldn't cooperate. Kylee went on to snag the QOM for the climb, which is absolutely incredible.  She crushed and I'm so proud of the work she's put in.
