Morning Ride

Started out with the plan of doing the whole 105mi ride on my Canyon road bike with 32mm tires. Ambitious is probably an understatement. But figured I could turn back early if the gravel was too much for my bike or body. 

And then my front tire exploded in a pot hole 8mi into the ride. I hit it it so hard that my Garmin head unit broke out of the handlebar mount. Only noticed it and a water bottle were both missing after fixing the flat and getting back on the bike.

Thankfully I found both of them the spread out along the road in the grass about 100m away. 

Since I was now 10-15min behind and took a short cut over to Turnersville Road to try to catch back on to some sort of a large front group. No luck other than some stragglers. 

Thankfully I ran into Ian Dille,
Coach Willy Ross Meteor, Dan Foehner, and a few others who had turned back after the gravel section. So I decided to flip it and give up the ghost of Old Sayers gravel (and a very long day) to have a much more chill and shorter ride home. 

I'd do R3 again, but not on 32mm tires.
