Koska kivut estivät minun nukkumisen, niin minä lähdin pyöräilemään tuulen ja pakkasen pikkuisen heikennettyä. Viimeksi olleet tekniset ongelmat sain ratkaistua. Etuvaihtaja vaihto systeemi jäätyy, joten en edes yrittänyt vaihtaa eturatasta, koska se oli isommalla rattaalla. Satula tangon ruuvin kiristin uudelleen momenttiinsa ja nyt satulan korkeus pysyi. Pyöräilystä teki haastavaa käsien puutuminen, ylävartalon kivut ja pakkanen. Pakkanen teki pyörän hyvin jäykäksi. Nyt posket, sormet ja varpaat kärsivät pakkasesta ja tyydyin sen takia pyöräilemään vain 20 kilometriä.
Since the pain prevented me from sleeping, I went for a ride after the wind and cold had eased a little. I was able to solve the technical problems I had recently. The front derailleur shifting system freezes in this cold, so I didn't even try to change it because it was on a larger chainring. I re-tightened the seat post tightening screw to the correct torque and now the saddle height remained correct. The numbness in my hands, the pain in my upper body and the cold made cycling challenging. The cold made the bike very stiff. Now my cheeks, fingers and toes were suffering from the cold and I was content to cycle only 20 kilometers because of that.
