I set off to conquer Pico de las Nieves. The legs were feeling good, but after Ayacata (1,423 m) the weather deteriorated sharply. With 9 km still to go to the summit, I decided to bail out. It felt like the right decision and I’m sure I’ll have another chance to conquer it soon.

On the way to Ayacata I met Carlos, who generously shared his gel with me as I was running out of food for the ascent. Gracias, amigo 🇨🇴
