An abridged day due to an elongated day yesterday. 100% the correct decision as despite the lack of distance was actually pretty rough going today (Upcot Saddle can do one). 

I think I may have been flambéd by Death Valley (Awatere Valley) giving me flashback to Señors episode in the NC500. The decision to pick up 2L of water yesterday paid dividends. 

The final destination is Middlehurst station as described by Zoe Strava “the nicest place I’ve ever stayed”. A real hidden gem in the South Island and couldn’t recommend higher. 

A day of rest and relaxation on cards tomoz (ie Zoe will make me hike for 5hrs).
