A great day out, although that long hill climb at 34k nearly killed me. 
10 mins slower than my 3:03 Marathon PB but that was on a pancake flat course and 8 years ago. The 600m total climb is probably equivalent to about 10-15 mins. Reckon I’ve got a sub-3 in me on a flat course if I train properly. 
Cold at the start (wearing gloves and buff), but it soon warmed up and I was shirtless by then end!
Really hard to pace by speed due to the continually undulating course. Tried to maintain steady controlled effort, was able to catch several runners in the last 10k.  
Not a hugely competitive marathon field due to the HK Standard Marathon next weekend.  500+ in the HM, but only about 120 in the FM. 
Congrats to Ferdinand-Clovis Airault The Magic Runner 🪄  for the comprehensive win (a training run for him) and for Peter Morley going sub-4 in a panda suit!
The time might be good enough for Boston and/or Chicago 2027…I certainly picked a challenging course to attempt to get qualifying times though!
