I ramped it up to 400 W while in the start pen, and that is the ticket to getting on the front group. I only had to hold that for a minute before the pace eased and I could sit in. That's much easier than starting at 250 W and chasing for 5 minutes at 300+ W. The pace was still pretty elevated for me, and a few guys slipped off the front and that left a group of around 25 in the "chase" group. I say "chase" because somebody suggested taking turns at 5 W/kg "if we want to catch the front group," to which I replied "Then I don't want to catch the front group" which was met with much mirth and merriment from my virtual mates 😁
