The trails were an odd blend of being both solid and soft at the same time!  I wasn't leaving ruts, but the dirt kinda felt shifty. There was one particular flat turn where I did some 2-wheel drifting. I stopped and took a closer look.  There were no tire marks, but there was some moisture and looseness to the top layer of dirt. But for the most part, things were actually pretty solid.  Nothing too special about this ride, but it was good to just get out on the trail. I also smashed my new Ergon GXR grips on a tree and they didn't even explode in the slightest! So that's promising.
