Gold Coast Hinterland with a very fit crew training for Three Peaks. Coming back from a lung infection and feeling the drop in fitness, I was pretty anxious heading into this one. 

Rolling start from Nerang before turning onto Mystery Road which should probably remain a mystery. Absolutely savage!!! Sustained 25%+ sections that felt endless. Without a doubt the hardest climb I have ever done. Two stops, but managed to ride it all.

Short stop at Mt Tamborine to refuel and question life choices, then a beautiful descent and fast run to Canungra. 

No resting there, straight into the long steady climb up to Lamington National Park and Kamarun Lookout. Tough legs but stunning scenery. 

Back to Canungra for lunch, then straight up again to Beechmont. Full belly, heat and humidity made that climb brutal, but made it without dying, just...

Great views, fast descents, and beers back at Nerang. 

A hard, humbling, and very rewarding day out. Glad I could do it with great people.
