Blissful stay here in Chiang Khong on the Mekong at the Baan Sakuna my favorite hotel in Thailand.  Had a hankering for a nice unladen pedal smasher today and this loop was just the ticket, last 55k on an old favorite quiet road right along the river that I’ve ridden twice before.  Really only one stop, an impromptu meetup w Tony a cycle tourer from England, and then a group of 3 Americans (rare to see other Yanks touring here) rolled up, all headed opposite direction of me but to Chiang Khong tonight.  Nice info ex and a plan for beers tonight followed by Saturday Night Walking Street dinner.  Back to my favorite smoothie stand in CK at the end, Mango/Pineapple today after Avocado the past 2 days.
