Missed miles from race

Mile at Susquehanna University River Hawk Invitational! 4:40.57 conversion to outdoor/banked track, 4:38.94 1600. Pretty funny to think that back in high school, I couldn’t break 5 mins for the 1600 indoors. They certainly gives me some confidence that I can break my mile PR outdoors this season 👀

Went out what I thought was fairly conservatively in this D3 race, fastest heat. Passed everyone who went out too fast laps, three and four, then got stuck in no man’s land laps 5 - 6. Should have fought harder to get up with the next guy, who I should have caught by the end. Got a little complacent there. Honestly, felt pretty good by the end! Never really suffered, so I need to figure out how to hurt in this fast stuff again.

Very pleased with this, especially given the lack of workouts recently. Although, my calf definitely hurt afterwards. That flat track really does it to you. Grateful for the opportunity to compete in a beautiful facility on the banks of the Susquehanna!
Funny, I told the coach to seed me somewhere between 4:44 and 4:54, finally settling on 4:49. Looks like I know myself pretty well lol.
