Farewell, Philly!

10 degrees to start, and only 14 degrees at the end.  I actually tolerated the cold fairly well.  And, yes, those are icicles hanging off my balaclava and my goggles.

 My hands were okay for the first hour, then alternated every 15-20 minutes between pretty darn cold and mildly chilled.

My feet, however, were down right TOASTY nearly the whole ride (only chilling ever so slightly for the last hour or so).  Without a doubt, those Wolvhammer MTB boots from 45nrth are the real effin’ deal.

In all candor, I did cheat a bit.  It was a westerly wind, so I had a good tail to start the ride.  However, rather than ride back into that wind, I had family member #1 pick me up (in a mini van) while they were on their way to the airport (to pick up family member #2).
