weird vibes today. i started prior to the pistes opening, and was skinning along the border of the piste, when a dude on snowmobile rides as close as he can to me and yells something but doesn’t stop. this catches me so off guard i fall to the side 😂 pick myself up, keep going. 

then he comes back when i’m at the tunel to maison neuve, and says “you know it’s forbidden to go up the piste?” and i say yeah but the slopes are closed still, and i’m heading to the forest track. he tells me it doesn’t matter, and says i better get off the piste at maison neuve. so i disappear into the forest and take the long steep way up mur des épines to avoid another interaction. 

and of course, when i’m skiing down to finish i see dozens of people skinning all over the piste, cutting kick turns in the middle of the run with skiers coming down 🤷🏽‍♂️ 

btw i heard a theory that they leave you alone if you’re wearing a skimo race suit. today i thoroughly debunked that theory 😹
