Today’s ride was a long, steady push with clear physiological intent. On the outbound leg, I stayed in Zone 2, riding at 50–65 RPM to increase muscular tension while keeping cardiovascular stress controlled. The low-cadence work emphasized torque production, slow-twitch fiber recruitment, and neuromuscular efficiency, with a deliberate focus on smooth 360° pedal mechanics—making circles, not stomping.

On the return, I transitioned into Zone 3, shifting focus to aerodynamic positioning and respiratory control. Holding a stable aero posture under moderate load trains fatigue resistance, improves ventilatory efficiency, and reinforces posture-dependent power output. Controlled breathing helped regulate CO₂ tolerance and heart rate drift, allowing sustainable pressure without tipping into unnecessary anaerobic cost.

A purposeful session—building aerobic durability, mechanical efficiency, and real-world race readiness.
