5+ minutes faster than last year, when I was quite sick. (Had mentioned 5th place here earlier, but apparently it was 6th and the podium 2 minutes out of reach instead of 1, could've sworn the time keeper's screen said 5th earlier... wonder if it corrected later and inserted someone into the podium)

Came down with a slight fever yesterday late afternoon. Took a paracetamol and tried to sleep early. Couldn't sleep, felt feverish again by midnight and took another one. Eventually passed out. Felt tired but better this morning, enough to convince me to still do this one.

Warmup felt shit. Started around third row. Managed to make the click and started easy enough on the downhill at the start. Got into a rhythm and slowly started passing people. Downhills especially I might have the advantage. Caught up and briefly hung behind a black kid halfway lap one. I first passed him but eventually he sped up and took some distance on me. He stopped after 5km though (and finished 4th with that apparently).

Start of second lap there were two guys 10something metre ahead of me. Caught up to them in the downhill with the idea of hanging there. Was hanging in third position when the second guy started fading on the first uphill. When I decided to pass him, the other guy had already a bit of a gap. Closed it before the climb to the track, then followed him for a while to rest up. Passed and dropped him when we left the football field area past the track. He hung around till the main downhill after that when he faded away when I used my stride. Could see two guys up ahead but wasn't going to be able to catch them. Instead just tried to keep the pace honest and keep an eye behind me when possible to ensure I was still alone. Start of field climb in chocobos I saw a group a little bit behind me, wasnt going to let them catch up so started a slow final stretch. Speeding up went better once leaving those. The street and forest after it is much easier to keep some speed on. Had no clue what place I wasso was alright with just not losing spots. This wasn't going to be a PR course anyway.
