This was last chance saloon for an August audax as we'll to touring from Saturday and while I'll be riding my bike a lot I surely won't to a 200.
It was much harder than it ought to be, and even by my measly standards the average speed is pretty rubbisch. What can I say in my defense: it was hot, it was windy and it was hilly. Maybe it wasn't my smartest idea to do a ride with 1800m of climbing within the first 150km during the a heat wave. Oh, and did I mention that it was windy, too? And hot! And hilly!
Anyway, it would have been ridiculous if my (unofficial) RRtY series broke in August, no? 　
Oh, and I visited the historic "free state bottleneck" again, even crossed the old American border, which was in place from 1919-1923. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_State_Bottleneck
