Am I A 3-Sport Athlete Now?

Knowing that the proceeds were going to a good cause  (JJ Packs - a non-profit in Marquette, Michigan - sends low income children home with nutritious packs of food on the weekends) made it easy to not skip the event organized by the Queen City Running Company. 

To say that it was windy is an understatement. But skies were mostly clear and the path was snow/ice free. First half of the second mile took a lot more effort as wind gusts seemed to get stronger. After the turnaround, it felt a little warmer. The tailwinds helped negative split the second half. Course might have been a bit shorter but I stopped the watch after crossing the finish line.

Having done this race last year and knowing the course was an advantage. As was running the entirety of the course during W/U to ensure there was no snow or transparent ice. And so was having a prime number for a bib - 929! Chatted with Bev and Paul during the race, and with Sam afterwards. Good run.

Official time was 0:19:34.8 - good for 4/101 overall, 4/40 in gender and 1/12 in AG. Results are here:

Grateful for health, friends and another real and in-person race to be a part of. Double dipping this one towards the 2020 BAA #finishSTRONG Challenge 5k - my first officially registered event under the auspices of the Boston Athletic Association.

Back to another week of rest and recovery.
