Unsupported. This one really tested my mettle. Ran all night, no nap, just me and the animals for the long darkness. Interesting headspace. I fatigued early due to all the extra weight I was carrying. Goal was under 24hrs, but I'll take this as it was a great learning experience for going that long. I think I would have got the goal if I had more daylight, there wasn't a deep slippery leaf cover, and if I managed the headlamp energy for more bright time (note: high-end fully charged rechargable batteries have WAY less charge then your standard alkeline). That almost got me in trouble, but I just left it on low and power-hiked the night away. The leaf cover was too deep to run on at night anyway, and that probably gave my legs a little more juice to run when the sun came up.  Poles were great and I used them most of the time after mile 25. All night I was flashing back to night-runs I did on the AT, and my whacky fast hike pole technique. No interesting hallucinations to report, but did see a most massive porcupine, and a Fisher cat the size of a small bear. Many other big animals that rattled away at my approach. If I do this again I think I'd opt for the other direction. Finishing with Greylock and Pine Cobble was nuts.
