The most important thing to know about this trip is that CalTopo, and my map, said that it would be 78 miles. It was exactly 90.00 (crazy, right?).

I brought my saw, ostensibly to cut out downed trees along the way. I didn't cut as many as I hoped and turned more to hiking just to get this done. This first section had a load of deadfall that took lots of time.
