Woke up to my Ursack bear bag and odor resistant bag torn into by a bear. He didn't get anything, tried to pull my stove out and it plugged the tear. I'm lucky he didn't want the chapstick I had in my sleeping bag. 

Loved talking with the CT thru hikers this morning! Took out a few trees on Brookside McCurdy, getting those volunteer hours in. halfway through today my left shin/ankle started to acutely hurt. Almost cut through the Wilderness to go back to the car. The jury is still out if pushing through was a good or bad idea...

Saw two moose and an elk in the morning near North Fork and Brookside Park below Bison Peak! 

I love love love how the Wilderness changed character today. The north west is characterized by broad, long parks of willows, the summits are conical and sweeping. Best seen from a grand distance. The south east is tight, twisty, with bubbly and domed rock formations, best seen intimately up close and personal. 

Had to make up distance today. Did an extra 7 above planned.
