1st place. Official time 10:58:16.  This is without a doubt the most difficult race (or run) I've ever done.  I gave it all I had to stay in front of Justin Kousky who also put in an awesome effort.  I think the humidity docked most people's time (it was a sweat-fest), and I missed a turn and added .75 road miles on top of it (oops).  Some rocks were slick adding to danger-factor but overall trail conditions were pretty good.  The terrain is insanely technical and the lengths of sustained climbs and descents were extreme.  For example: on Devil's Path, I was in the lead and "running" well and had some miles at 29 and 26 pace, and felt that was pretty good!!  I chugged extra water at each aid station (but still was dehydrated) and consistently forced in calories which helped me stay strong for the duration.  I'm very appreciative of the effort of the directors and volunteers to make this crazy race happen.  Some of the aid stations require significant uphill hikes to get water and food out there so thanks to everyone involved.  All that with the friendly vibe of the trail running community makes this one very special!
