Ate and slept well last night.

Travelled solo to Cable after completing the post-race festivities in Minocqua yesterday. The North End Ski Club groomers did an excellent job preparing the trails. Mother Nature yet again blessed the region with light snow this morning and through the race.

Goals for today were the same as yesterday: using correct form and terrain-appropriate technique, implementing newer learnings in a race atmosphere, being present in the kilometer I was in and racing smart with peace.

I didn't realize that I had lined up next to John Bauer (a 3x Olympian but I know him better as Coach Nancy Bauer's son) at the start. Got to ski with some good folks that made the moving feel fast on a slow day. All that and a sphenic number (product of 3 distinct primes) for a bib - 231 (a little more special since the three distinct primes - 3, 7 and 11 - are evenly spaced) - led to 1:01:36.2 for a finish time https://www.webscorer.com/racedetails?raceid=267192&did=310817 - good for 11/40 overall, 9/25 gender and 1/2 in AG.

Got to chat with may friendly faces (Allison, Kate, Maureen, Ron, and more) and Coach Nancy Bauer before and after the race. When the Toko released their wax recommendation, there was no fresh snow in the forecast. This was a good lesson to hold off an Liquid Paraffin wax until the night before and make the equipment be more conducive to racing. Good outing!
