Ate and slept well last night. Steph and I arrived at Swedetown shortly before 10 am.

There was a time, in the not too distant past, when I could only make left turns on skis. Since NASCAR was/is all about just left turns, so came the name/phrase NASSki to describe my 'style' (or limitations) of skiing. Brought that 'style' back for today's outing as we skied through every loop/trail (right turns from Powderhouse to Greenstone, Mama Bear to Greenstone, Greenstone to Valley as well as to and out of Flamingo on Birch) at a moderately easy effort level.

Fell three times - all of them on Powderhouse as my current step turning skills were no match for some of the deep ruts. Stopped a few times for photos. Explored crust skiing for the first time in my life. Played roulette with falling ice from the trees. Started to hit the wall just before entering the Ed's loop but decided to push on without any nutrition since I had Steph's company and supervision.

We took turns leading each other and I got to mimic Steph's technique whenever I was following her. Trails got a little tender in the second half. Saw/Chatted with Liz and Danise along the way. Good conversations. Good peaceful outing before Third Winter resumes (or Fourth Winter arrives) in our region later this afternoon.
