I ate and slept well yesterday.

The plan called for a 10k to test the first four weeks of training - first of the three racing checkpoints in this marathon training cycle. This was only my fifth ever road 10k race.

W/U jog, drills and strides were good before getting into the corral. I raced with ease and peace throughout. The result was 0:42:58 for the official finish time https://runsignup.com/Race/Results/53110/IndividualResult/2022#U4630672 - good for 140/4203 overall, 117/1846 in gender, 12/172 in AG. Good run.

Finish time was about 60 seconds slower than I'd have liked (lost them over miles #5 and #6) and only about 15 seconds slower than what the plan prescribed. A new PR for this distance by 0:01:14. More proud (or prouder?) of running light without carrying unnecessary mental baggage. Pleasant weather. Good crowd support. Good event. W/D jog afterwards.
