Ate and slept well last night.

This is the fifth ski race of the 2022-23 winter - the third one on classic skis, the fifth time ever racing on fully waxable classics and second time ever my hands got dirty (in a good way, and first time without freaking out) with klister for a race.

My goals for the event were the same as last weekend in Minocqua: use correct form and terrain-appropriate technique, be present in the current kilometer, and race hard with peace.

Mother Nature blessed the region with another lovely day for racing. Groomers did a great job and the trails held up fairly well most of the way. Checked most of the goals and the official finish time was 0:54:51 https://www.webscorer.com/race?raceid=305324 - good for 10/54 overall, 7/34 gender and 1/2 in AG. Grateful for health, and all the help and guidance from friends, mentors and coaches.

Getting to see many of my nordic skiing family (Allison, Bradley Wells, Hansons, Ian Duncan, Jenna Nelson, Liese, Phil Strong, Scott “Bjorn” Cummings, Thatchers, Zach Nelson, and more) and expanding it with newer additions made for a fun and home-y experience. Ski: Salomon XCC RC7 196; Glide: Cleaned with Toko Copper Brush, Star Glide Wax Cleaner and Toko Copper Brush on 2023-02-11. Toko GHW HP Blue applied, stripped and brushed on 2023-02-11. Toko GLW HP Blue applied on 2023-02-11 and polished with a dedicated brush on 2023-02-12; Structure: Toko Red; Grip: Cleaned and roughened with 150 grit sandpaper on 2023-02-11 (between the K-markers). Toko KBB Green ironed in, corked and cooled on 2023-02-11. 1:1 Toko KKP Blue:Red ironed in, corked and cooled on 2023-02-11. 7x (total) alternating Toko KHW Red and Toko KHW Red applied and corked gently in between layers on 2023-02-12.
