PCC Level 3 Wye Valley Wandering
Welcome to Celia and Dave’s Wye Valley ride series exploring the lovely Wye Valley and sampling the surrounding hills on offer. These are steady L3 paced rides aimed at building hill-climbing confidence as well as time in the saddle.

This fourth ride we stay to the west of the Wye river this time exploring the Welsh hills. Going west from Chepstow race course we climb up to Devauden and onwards to Trellech on quiet country lanes, before descending to Mitchel Troy for cake and a cuppa at the Red Door deli and cafe in the Millbrook Garden centre. The climb back up towards Trellech is the most challenging yet, with a couple of steeper sections, but with places to stop and catch your breath if needs be. Then it’s a lovely long descent down to the valley road into Tintern before the final, partly familiar climb (we turn off before the top) to get back to the race course.

As the ride involves sweeping descents and riding along ridges etc, we’ll watch weather conditions before confirming ride. So please check club social media for updates or changes to route.

This time meet at 09:30am (ready to ride) at the large layby (on A466, LHS) just after the Chepstow Racecourse main entrance; just after the large roundabout. This parking spot is free and has been used by PCC folk on many an occasion without any problems.
