Last Hejazi Standing
A Backyard Ultra | Just one more loop affiliated event

Registration on https://hejazultra.org/event/lhsv2/

Backyard Ultra is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run a distance of 6706 meters in less than one hour. When each lap is completed, the remaining time within the hour is typically used to recover for the next hour’s race.

Can you run 6.7km in 1h? Then you qualify to start the race. We’ll see how stubborn you are and how long you can continue this stunt for.

We will start running at 07:00 AM. Each lap will start every hour on the hour. Until there is only one Last Hejazi Standing.

There will be only one female and one male winner. There is no room for second place. no such thing as a one-before-last Hejazi Standing.

It is a cruel run. You will discover how far you can push your limits: You will need to manage your pace. The fastest runner will not win. The most tenacious will.

As Lazarus “Laz” Lake mentioned about the Backyard Ultras: “if we did this to dogs, they would throw us in jail.“

Here are the rules:

Course:
It will be a loop of 6.706 kilometers

Starting Corral:
Starting Corral is measured to fit entire starting field
Corral stays the same size thru out the event
Athletes must be in the starting corral at the bell

Starts: Each loop starts precisely 1 hour after the last
Warning must be given 3, 2, and 1 minutes prior to start
All Athletes must start at the bell (no late starts)

Loops
Except for restrooms, competitor may not leave the course until each loop is completed
No non-competitors on the course (including eliminated runners)
No personal aid during a loop (common aid stations are allowed)
Each loop must be completed within an hour to be counted… including the final lap.
No artificial aids (including trekking poles)
Slower runners must allow passes.

Winner/Results
The winner is the last person to complete a loop
All others are technically DNF
Results of each runner in terms of distance covered are to be given.
If no runner can complete one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner.

Cap:
Race is open ended. Don’t ask us ” what time it will finish”! It will finish when the Last Hejazi Standing will complete his final loop, alone.

Location: The location will be shared with registered participants a few days before the event.
