MAAP Equinox Experience Ride: Melbourne, Australia - GRAVEL Short Ride

16
MAR
8:00 AM Saturday
Meet Up Spot Warburton Bakery - 3415 Warburton Hwy, Warburton VIC 3799
Tempo / Killer Climbs

The arrival of Equinox on March 19th and 20th brings an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with the light around us as we move into the season ahead.

In collaboration with MAAP Ambassador Derek Holland, we want to inspire and motivate cyclists around the world to chase the light for 12 hours during the week of the Equinox. The days are extending for some and shortening for others, but on this day riders in the Southern and Northern Hemisphere experience roughly twelve hours of light and twelve of darkness. The global cycling community is in balance. Here, we explore an appreciation for these events and a commitment to the spirit of adventure in the changing seasons.

This ride will be hard and unsupported. Please be aware of your personal fitness and ability. For many who do the whole route, it will be the longest ride in their cycling journey. For those who join for a portion of the route, it will add fuel to the experience. Whether you plan to do the entire route or a section of your choice, you'll be a part of a global community of riders finding a moment of harmony and alignment on the bike. However it’s accomplished, may the effort be grounded in the pleasure of possibilities when pushing into new comfort zones with friends.

*** IMPORTANT DETAILS PLEASE READ ***

1. You are responsible for your own nutrition and hydration across the ride.

2. You are also responsible for your own mechanical support – bring tubes and/or CO2 cartridges.

3. We strongly encourage you to consider your fitness level. If you’re on the fence, we recommend you ask a more experienced friend if this ride is a good step-up ride for your continued development.

4. If you’re unsure about your fitness level, out of an abundance of caution, we recommend you hold on this ride and be on the lookout for future MAAP-supported rides.

5. There will be treats provided by MAAP.
