MAAP Equinox Experience Ride: Amsterdam, The Netherlands (End of Week)

The arrival of Equinox on March 19th and 20th brings an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with the light around us as we move into the season ahead.

In collaboration with the MAAP LaB Amsterdam and MAAP ambassador, Alberto Viciana, we want to inspire and motivate cyclists around the world to chase the light for 12 hours during the week of the Equinox.

The days are extending for some and shortening for others, but on this day riders in the Southern and Northern Hemisphere experience roughly twelve hours of light and twelve of darkness. The global cycling community is in balance. Here, we explore an appreciation for these events and a commitment to the spirit of adventure in the changing seasons.

*** IMPORTANT DETAILS PLEASE READ ***

1. You are responsible for your own nutrition and hydration across the ride.

2. Bring lights suitable for riding in the dark. This ride will end in the dark.

3. You are also responsible for your own mechanical support – bring tubes and/or CO2 cartridges.

4. We strongly encourage you to consider your fitness level for the longer rides. If you’re on the fence, we recommend you ask a more experienced friend if this ride is a good step-up ride for your continued development.

5. We will start and finish each ride at the LaB Amsterdam

End location - MAAP LaB Amsterdam, Reestraat 9, 1016 DM Amsterdam, Netherlands

Route details/description - 39 km, 49 m, 1.5hrs, 26-28km/hr average.

This ride will be unsupported so be sure to bring plenty of spares for any mechanical issues as well as plenty of mid-ride snacks.
